Oh, how I wish I could adequately set forth the glory of the One who is worthy to be the object of our worship! I do believe that if our new converts – the babes in Christ—could be made to see His thousand attributes and even partially comprehend His being, they would become faint with a yearning desire to worship and honor and acknowledge Him, now and forever.

Over the last two weeks we have had two home groups from our previous church, Life to the Nations visit us on our Sunday morning meetings. They were both a great blessing and one of the questions that I was asked by the leader of one of the groups was:
“So what’s it like to start a new church”?
My response (which surprised me as I have never verbalised it before) was: “When you boil it down to the basics, you love Jesus, you love His people and you find a place to meet”. I qualified this by saying that obviously there is a lot more to it than just this, but as I got thinking about the reply later that day the potency of keeping things simple remained with me and the thought, that in life we can often complicate, even basic things.
So, for all of you out there that God is calling to plant a church, don’t be put off by the paralyzing thought of you have got to make it all happen.
Jesus said: “I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it” Matt 16:18b (ESV)
And you know what?
He is right.
